This image was inspired by the group Renaissance, not a particular song or lyric, but an overall feel. Their 1970's era music is still a wonder to listen too. In art school, I created a similar themed piece in acrylic with a classical American landscape composition, but I decided to make this a digital image using Fractal Painter 6.0. The tree was a lot of fun to do (and a lot of work). As usually for digital pieces, I exclusively use the airbrush, and avoid any shortcuts and/or `tricks' to keep the work consistant with my traditional paintings. Unfortunately, when I reduced the image's size, a lot of the detail was erased, especially in the face..
