Here we go again- it's 2003 and time for another hand-rendered Christmas card. I sketched out the idea in my drawing book, then scanned it into the computer and started it in July. After leaving it for a few months, I finished it in November and printed them out. This is another Victorian outside scene. The snowman and the Victorian home have been the consistent elements (on purpose), for the last 3 years. Next year, I want to paint a card in the traditionalmanner- as I am tired of doing the holiday card digitally... The above image is only 1/6 the original size of the master image and a lot of detail is lost... but you get the point. I like making the houses a bit creepy, but the rest is purely Victorian romanticism. The entire image was created in the airbrush tool in Painter 7/8.
I have been criticized about not making any of my cards religious (like my sister does). Two reasons for that; though I am spiritual and love traditional values, I have a ton of issues with the `Christian mythology.' The order reason is- I firmly believe that your faith should be private and not pushed others. You can still be a caring human being without organized religion.
