For the second straight Christmas, I decided to continue the 1904 World's fair, but do it on a much smaller scale. I consider this one of my better acrylics on masonite. The reference was a terrible B & W image, so I had to improvise the color. I painted in a slightly different style of glazing, which is usually used in oils, but I got the piece done in less than 3 weeks during prep periods and lunch times at school. I sketched the piece right on the masonite, which I covered with a purple/brown wash. It was enjoyable to paint. I found the frame at my mom's and thought it fit the character of the piece. This acrylic is 12" x 18."
