I went to Chiller Theatre at the Meadowlands in Oct. 2005- mainly to meet Barbara Eden (yes, I had a crush on her when I was young). We had a three hour wait to get into the autograph tent and though it was walk-up for Bill Daily and Larry Hagman, there was almost an hour to see Barbara Eden. I was impressed by the wonderful demeanor of Bill Daily- what a nice man- a very gentle soul. He actually chatted and wanted to look at my sketchbook. Larry Hagman looked frail, but generally enthused and happy to meet fans and convention goers alike. Barbara was the most youthful of the three, but her manager was very terse- almost scrooge-like. Twice she warned people who were taking pictures- that they would be thrown out. The manager reminded me of Fagan from Oliver Twist. Still Barbara had a wonderful smile and seemed happy to be acknowledged. She made a mint those three days...
The sketch was a quick one, after my tinnitus got worse (it was so bad I had trouble concentrating and drawing at all), I had a very difficult just trying to focus on this sketch because of the 24/7 thunderous whining in my ear. The references were small blurry pictures from the internet, especially the Major Nelson pix which was horrible, but I guess it came out okay under the circumstances.
