This image  is an  acrylic painting  I painted for my  wife  for  2008 Christmas.  I kept  this year's  paintings to  the  theme  of  the  1904  World's  Fair. This image is  15" x 23"  and was painted on Masonite.  The reference  wasn't  very  good, and of  course in black  and white;   so I  had  to  guess and a  few  elements, but it  was enjoyable  to  paint.

The scene  takes place on a Sunday in April as  a group of privileged people tour  the  main  launching  area near the Grand Basin.  The statue to the right is  called-  `Cowboy at Rest.'  The title of the piece is- `A Sunday Morning Tour before the Opening of the Fair.'
