This image is an acrylic painting I painted for my wife for 2008 Christmas. I kept this year's paintings to the theme of the 1904 World's Fair. This painting is 15" x 23" and was painted on Masonite. The reference wasn't very good, so I had to guess at a few elements, but it was challenging and fun to paint.
The scene is very similar to the `A Sunday Morning Tour before the Opening of the Fair,' painting , but is busier, because it takes place during the Fair. Because of my changing eyesight, it was difficult deciphering the black and white photo reference.
The title of the piece is- The Main Launching,'
